Ramakrishna Mission Shillong is adorned with a beautiful temple of Sri Ramakrishna which is open to all communities irrespective of their faith, caste, and creed. Thousands of devotees throng here on special days like Durga Puja, birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Hundreds of people participate in Christmas-eve, Buddha Purnima and Kali Puja celebrations. Scores of people take advantage of the spiritually vibrating and meditative atmosphere of the Ashram campus regularly. Daily Evening Arati and Bhajans bring a lot of joy and blessedness to dozens more.
The small but beautiful meditation hall of the Institute is the venue for all discussion on inspiring lives and events, teachings and philosophies. This is conducted by the monks of Ramakrishna order on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Chanting of Veda Mantras and verses from the Bhagavad-Gita, singing of devotional songs and Kirtans, Meditation and many other forms of mind elevating rituals and processes form a part of such discourses. Nowadays, though it is being held in Bengali Medium, options are open for conducting the same in other languages if desired by spiritual seekers.
