Ramakrishna Mission had opened a "Home" for tribal students in the year 1952 with just four inmates. 58 years down the line and today this "Home" houses 26 tribal boys, which include the Chakmas, the Khasis, the Jaintias and the Nagas. They study in different schools of the locality in classes V to X. Apart from their academic pursuits, they are involved in various extra-curricular activities and conduct excursion - cum - study tours for all-round development.
